You don't need an account. Signing in with Google is optional. We keep your fax only as long as it takes to send it, then delete it. We don't sell your information, show ads, or use analytics.
The camera is used only to scan pages you choose, and photos or PDFs are read only when you pick them. A list of your recent faxes stays on the phone. If you allow notifications, we store a push address (through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging) to tell you how a fax ended and when one arrives at your number. When you save a fax or a receipt, it goes to your phone's Downloads folder and stays there; we never see it.
Your credits are tied to the app, not to you. The recovery code shown in the app moves them to a new phone. Anyone with that code can use your credits, so keep it private. Without it, we can't tell which credits are yours.
Signing in is optional and only in Settings. If you do, Google Firebase Authentication gives us a sign-in ID for you and your email address. We store them with your app's ID so your credits, your fax number and your faxes follow you to another phone where you sign in. Signing in on a second phone moves that phone's credits onto your account. We never get your Google password, and we don't use your email for anything else.
To delete the account, open Settings, then Your account, then Delete account. We delete your sign-in ID and email straight away, from our records and from Firebase Authentication; your credits, number and faxes stay on the phone as they were before you signed in. You can also ask by email: see how to delete your Fax Booth account and data.
To ask us to delete what we hold, or with any question, email solomon@solomondevstudio.com and include your recovery code (or the email you signed in with) so we can find your records.
Fax Booth is not directed at children under 13. If we learn a child has sent us personal information, we will delete it.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
