Foreman Math · effective 3 November 2026
Foreman Math collects no personal data, has no accounts, contains no advertising or analytics, and sends nothing anywhere on its own. Everything you enter stays on your device unless you export it yourself.
That is the whole policy. The rest of this page is the detail behind it, so you can check the claim rather than take it.
Nothing. Foreman Math has no sign-in, no user account, no profile, and no identifier of any kind. It never asks for your name, email address, phone number, or location. It does not read your contacts, photos, files, camera, microphone, or clipboard, and it asks for no Android permission that would let it — no location, no camera, no microphone, no contacts, no storage, no phone.
Nothing, on its own. The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising library, and no third-party service except Google Play's purchase library for Pro, which talks only to the Google Play app on your phone. Its files are built into the app and it has no internet permission, so it can't make a network request at all. That is why every calculator works with the radio off.
The one way anything leaves this device is when you send it: the Export screen's COPY, SAVE and SHARE buttons hand your tape to your clipboard, to a file, or to another app you pick. You choose the destination and the app has no part in what happens after that — but it is your calculation history, so choose the destination as carefully as you would for any other job record.
The app remembers your work so that closing it does not throw it away. All of this is written to the app's own local storage on the device and is never transmitted:
| What | Storage key | Why it exists |
|---|---|---|
| Your tape — the running history of calculations | foremanmath.tape |
A tape that clears itself is the single most-reported failure in this category of app. Yours survives a restart. |
| Material prices you have entered | foremanmath.prices |
So a quantity can be costed without retyping your prices each time. |
| Your settings — units, precision, and preferences | foremanmath.settings |
So the app opens the way you left it. |
| The calculation currently on screen | foremanmath.pending |
Kept for the session only, so reloading mid-job does not lose the answer in front of you. |
If one of those lists is ever damaged — a half-finished write, a full disk —
the app copies the damaged text aside under the same name with a
.corrupt suffix instead of deleting it, so a day's work is not lost
to a glitch. Those copies live on this device like everything else, are never
transmitted, and are removed when you clear the list they came from.
The app does not use Android's device backup, so none of this is copied to Google or anywhere else when your phone backs up.
You are the only one who has it, so you are the only one who has to delete it. Each of these is immediate:
.corrupt copy of
it. Your prices are a separate list with their own
Clear all prices button. There is no copy on any server, so there is no account to close and nothing to request from us. Anything you exported yourself is outside the app and only you can delete it.
Foreman Math is a tool for construction work and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
Foreman Math Pro is a yearly subscription with a free trial, sold and run entirely by Google Play. Google, not Foreman Math, handles your payment details; we never see or store a card number, billing address, or any other payment information. The app asks the Google Play app on your phone whether Pro is active and remembers the answer on this device, so Pro keeps working with no signal; that answer is never sent to us. You cancel or manage the subscription in Google Play. Google's handling of that transaction is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
The app includes one open-source code library, fraction.js (MIT
licence), which performs exact fraction arithmetic on the device. It makes no
network requests and has no access to anything outside the calculation it is
given. It also uses the open-source Barlow and IBM Plex typefaces. Full licence
text for all of them is in the app under About.
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page changes with it, and the same text is updated inside the app. Because the app collects nothing, any change can only ever be a clarification of that.
